DVD Talk review of 'Nine Dead'

I read Tyler Foster's DVD review of Nine Dead at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=41302 and...

I have seen this film and dissagree with the Skip it advise. I thought it drew you in and keep you interested in the story. Is it the best movie I have ever seen? No but it was entertaining. I think that for a first time director with a limited budget it was a good starting point. I will be interested in seeing what comes from him next.

As far as comparing it to SAW, well thats for each person to decide. I thought the ONLY good SAW movie was the first one. Nine Dead is not trying to be another SAW, i believe it stands on its own.

As for being mostly in one room, well thats what made it interesting, you feel like you are trapped in the room with these people. It reminds me of a DARK 12 angry men.

All in all with things like Netflix and Redbox I think you wont feel slighted if you give it a chance. We need to support the up and coming film makers! these are the people who will be bringing us our entertainment for the future. Every great filmmaker has a first film, some are good some are bad, Nine Dead is a good start.

I probably would have given it a Rent It advisory if it had more of an ending.
Spoiler:
Melissa Joan Hart just wanders off...and then credits? That isn't so much a cliffhanger as it is just stopping in the middle of the sentence you were writing.

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Nine Dead'

I am really excited to see MJH in a horror film so I don't care whether it is a good film or not.
