Actually, Jessica's fate WAS revealed on an episode of Benson where she visits him as a ghost!

I wouldn't go so far as that. There was a vision of Jessica who appeared in Benson, but she told him she wasn't still alive but in a coma in South America. It doesn't really wrap things up.
