"Aqua Teen Hunger Force: The Movie" ...good blind buy?
For some reason i am intrigued by this movie and it has always been $19.99. now, it is $14.99 at BB next week and wondering if I should pick it up. i like the fact that it has two versions of the film.
now, bear in mind i have never, ever seen a full episode of the show and have maybe seen teeny, tiny bits.
thanks for comments.

I'm the same, loved ATHF, hated the movie. The movie lacked any sort of plot (which considering how the show goes, it actually just light critisicm), and was way to heavy on the gross factor which I consider a weak point of the show. I would however, suggest picking up season 1 or 2 of the show if you've never seen it.

I'd say it's almost worth the $15 for the Patti Smith commentary track alone!
I love the show and loved the movie; especially the ending (which I'm not gonna spoil.) It is kind of a different animal, though. It takes a bit of getting used to; an AQHF that actually moves through acts and even HAS an actual ending!??

The series works, the movie didn't. The bonus features are worth the purchase, but not for the movie.
And the 2nd version of the movie isn't fully animated. It's just drawings and things with voiceovers.

Mark me down for like the show, liked the movie and loved the DVD. The opening of the movie is pretty much the funniest thing I saw all year.
I was expecting it to be total balls, but it turned out pretty good.
Plus... it is hands down the best cover art of the year. I mean not only is it the movie poster (for once)... the poster is fucking insane!

Scott, here's my two cents.
Love the show, but agree that it pretty much is best in small servings. The movie was enjoyable, but not worth more than $5 in my opinion.
And really, you should never pay more than $5 for a SD DVD. Between columbia house, ch, other deals, and waiting, $5 is the price point for almost everything non-HD.
