DVD Talk review of 'Death Sentence'
I read Phil Bacharach's DVD review of Death Sentence at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=31888 and noticed he called it a "Death Wish-knockoff". I just wanted to point out that, technically speaking, this movie is based on the novel titled "Death Sentence" by Brian Garfield which is the actual sequel novel to his original novel "Death Wish" (which was, of course, the basis of the Charles Bronson movie). This movie version of "Death Sentence" essentially throws out almost everything in the book and just keeps the title, but by simply being somewhat loosely based on Garfield's book, it's hard to really call it a "knock-off" of Death Wish.

Point taken.
But since the only thing that remained from the book is its title, I figured it was enough of a "knockoff" to call it as such. "Death Sentence" is too good a title to have gone to waste, I s'pose.
