Blind buy of "Domino"?
I'm considering picking up shoot 'em up at best buy, for 16.99 I believe, and they have Domino for $5 with a purchase of shoot em up. Should I dive in? They also have Running Scared and Knockaround Guys for the same promotion. I haven't seen these either, either one of them better? I'll probably buy Shoot 'Em Up anyway so I'm curious if I should take this deal blind.

Which one is the best blind buy? I love keira knightly, paul walker, and vin diesel, so I can't really decide. I figure people who have seen it would have a better opinion.

Wasn't that impressed with Domino, but if you like Keira Knightley... Running Scared was surprisingly good, however. You could always get both since they're only $5 and you're going to get SEU anyway.

It seems that it's limited to one title for the promotion, extra copies being $10. Running Scared seems to have good reviews though, it might get my pick.

Running Scared
Without a doubt, get "Running Scared." I initially watched it with somewhat tepid expectations, as I've loathed Paul Walker (although I had liked Wayne Cramer's previous film, "The Cooler"), and was incredibly surprised. The film has a few scenes that I feel are pitch-perfect in their execution. Honestly, the film was one of my favorites of whatever year it came out (2005?). It may not be extremely realistic, but as long as you buy into the plot (which you will), you'll love it. You can notice the influences of John Carpenter, Brian de Palma, and Walter Hill, all of whom the director cites as influences during the final credits. A great fucking film...and a vastly underrated one.

I suppose some people's underrated are another's overrated. I found Running Scared to be utterly silly. While some sequences work, the overall film in uncohesive and just far too outlandish. There was no need to try to fit basically every societal ill into one movie, really overstretched the plot to the point of shattering my generous attempt at suspension of disbelief.
OP...if you are a fan of Tony Scott's other films/kinetic/MTV-styled editing then I would get Domino, its just another Scott film that tends to look like his other recent ones (Man on Fire, Deja Vu). I remember being really excited about this when it came out, saw it in theaters only to be let down, his style was just too much the same for me, nothing there to rise this above his other films, but it is fairly entertaining in a mindless sort of way.

Well, it ended up being Running Scared. Picked it up and SEU. Another friend of mine suggested running scared as well. I just finished watching War (awesome) and I'll give Running Scared a watch this weekend. Thanks guys!

Wow, someone liked War? I thought that blew ass.
Someone else mentioned it in the review thread, we want to see Jet Li and Jason Staitham kick some ass, not act for 2 hours.
Oh, and running scared is great.

On a similar note, I also happen to be a Paul Walker fan. Watched Timeline last night. Meh. Average. He didn't do much in the movie, at all, and I was disappointed. Had someone other pitiful nobody been cast in his place, it's safe to say I would have never watched that movie. But I look forward to Running Scared, it seems right up my alley.

I would have gone with Domino. No matter what anyone says, I'm sticking to my opinion that the movie is a hyper-kinetic joy fest. You could still find it for cheap. Buy it next time.

I think I have a man crush on him, his personality in every movie I happen to dig. Snatch, Italian Job, Crank - They all are decent because I like him. Had I not, it'd be a completely different story.

And a friend of mine has recommended London to me on numerous occasions, and I keep forgetting. *adds "London" to must-see list*

Yeah, Knockaround Guys is one of the worst movies Ive ever seen (and I paid to see it in the theatres
)... I really wish there was some inner voice telling Statham to pick some better roles, because he can be great, just needs to pick some better films.

Well running scared was good. I think plot wise, some things were a bit extraneous, but overall I liked it. Thanks for the advice guys. One of my friends said he has domino, so sometime I'll give it a watch.
