What DVD Should I Get?
OK, DVDTalk -- I need your help.
If you click the link in my signature, you will see that I own exactly 999 DVDs, at least by the way I count them. 999! That means my next DVD is the oh-so-momentous #1,000!
And I have no idea what DVD could be worthy of this honor.
So hit me with your best suggestion. Tell me what I should buy. Tell me what DVD deserves that place of glory.
A couple of caveats:
First, while the Owned list is up-to-date, the Wishlist is not. So don't limt yourself to the DVDs on that list.
Second, I count DVDs in my collection when I have them in my hands. That means a pre-order won't do the trick.
So lay it on me, people. Tell me what to buy!

You didn't state when you were buying it but if you can wait until Tuesday you could get the Troy: Director's Cut (Ultimate Edition)
or else go for a classic like Commando: Director's Cut

If I got Troy or the Graduate, it would be a double-dip, which means I would unload the previous version, which means I would renumber and I'd be back where I started!
Fight Club has some possibilities. Otherwise, nothing anybody mentioned really grabs me.
Part of me thinks I should buy the movie my wife and I saw on our first date, but it is a really, really, really, really terrible movie and I don't really want to own it.

Sell them all, start over at #1 with HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray!
The first title I looked for was Primer, which you don't own. Then I looked for Brick, and you don't own that. Those are the two movies I tell people to buy when they ask for a good one they probably don't own. If I had to pick one, I'd say Primer. And it's not because I have one for sale in my FS/FT thread in the DVDTalk.com Exchange forum. First class shipping would get to you in 3 days. If you are interested, click anywhere around this general area of underlined text. It really is a good movie, and it's one that most people rewatch quickly to see what they could have missed. It's a good one to be #1000. In fact, I think I'll watch mine again this weekend (the one I have for sale is brand new).
Then, buy these:
1001. Brick
1002. What Dreams May Come
1003. Fallen
1004. The Girl in the Cafe

I’m in the same camp you are. The Office isn’t my type of humor either. It’s the only NBC ‘Comedy Night Done Right’ comedy I don’t love.
