Here are some more obscure SF shows I've heard of, but I don't think they are on DVD yet - they might be on cable somewhere. Are any of these good?

Now & Again - this got brilliant reviews - was it really that good (and this is not Once and Again with Sela Ward, which aired the same year ....mmmm....Sela Ward).

The Invisible Man - I read a review once in a SF magazine that said this was brilliant, but no one ever talks about it.
Now and Again was excellent (if not brilliant) and I hated to see it canceled, on a cliffhanger yet. The Invisible Man was fun.

Other superior ones not yet on DVD: the strangely underrated and little mentioned Early Edition with everyone's now favorite high school football coach (four ratings challenged seasons) and the obscure, quirky Strange Luck (one shortened season - 17 episodes) which I think was on UPN. Another UPN show which was kind of a good bad show (guilty pleasure) was 7 Days (three seasons). I'd buy any of these.

...and the horrible acting, bad special effects, repetitive storylines, silly-looking monsters. Let's face it, it was a show for teenagers, although it was somewhat better-written than Dr. Who. A few of the shows from the first season are worth watching - the pilot and the final show from the last season were quite good, but apart from that the vast majority were bad because with a couple of exceptions (Paul Darrow and Michael Keating) the cast in the later episodes simply couldn't act.

If you've got a region-free player I just picked up a double disc from xploitedcinema.com with all 3 BBC Quatermass Miniseries on it. (only two surviving episodes from the first series).

No one has said the Planet of the Apes series? Maybe it's better that way.

You can't beat The Twilight Zone, and you can't beat this DVD set either:

That's the entire series, all 156 episodes on 28 discs, and it is absolutely deserving of that "Complete Definitive Collection" title in every way imaginable. It may seem pretty pricey, but you're getting so much bang for your buck that it truly is worth every penny. That price on Wal-Mart's site is the cheapest you'll find it too, even cheaper than it'll be on Deep Discount with the next 20% off sale. Hell, I don't even know if that's permanent on Wal-Mart's site, it looks like it could just be a temporary price-cut. Definitely nab this one. It'll keep you gorged for the better part of a year.
