Great movies in your collection:

28 Days Later
Dumb and Dumber
Fight Club
Ghostbusters
Jarhead
Jurassic Park
Seven

Shitty movies in your collection:

2 Fast 2 Furious
American Pie
BASEketball
Dodgeball
Dreamcatcher
Dumb and Dumberer
Fast and the Furious
Fast and the Furious 3
Freddy got Fingered
The Girl Next Door
Godzilla
Grind
Half Past Dead
Hard Target
Hollow Man
The Hunted
Jurassic Park 3
Mission Impossible 2
Mortal Kombat Anihilation
National Lampoon's Van Wilder
The Order
Out Cold
Road Trip
Scary Movie
Silent Hill
Swimfan
Van Helsing
Wayne's World 2
When a Stranger Calls

The ones I didn't list are just "meh" to "pretty good", or ones I haven't seen. So yeah, I think overall you've got a pretty bad taste in movies. My opinion of course.

Once I saw all the fool screen movies, I had to stop looking and cry myself to sleep.

Exactly, buy what you like, who cares what anyone else thinks.

That said, most of your collection is crap imho. Please never buy full screen again. And I agree with checking out the IMDB top list. You're not ready for the older classics or foreign gems, but at least buy good mainstream movies.

I can't believe you have Freddy Got Fingered in your collection. It's one of the worst films ever made. I hope it's one of those DVDs you got given free, I'd hate to think anyone would want to waste their money on that infantile rubbish.

What? Have you no appreciation for such classics as "Backwards Man"...or "Daddy, Would You Like Some Sausages"?

Check the link in my sig for my dvds. Thanks for the opinions.
Quality over quantity, my boy.

Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your taste in movies. It matters what you like, and what you think is worth buying, and how you judge what is worth owning.

I'd say the biggest is to only buy movies you know you will enjoy watching repeatedly. I think it's a select group that meets that criteria. Just because you liked or enjoyed a movie doesn't mean you need to own it. Or are you into commentaries? Special features? Look for what interests you.

And look for bargains, sales, discounts. A movie you may not want for $15 may be worth getting for $10. And wait for it. No need to rush, usually. But don't buy it just because it's cheap - a $5 movie you won't watch is no bargain.

BUT... widescreen from now on, 'k? That's a simple lesson.

It's a satirical news site. They're not real.

(but they are spectacular)

Great movies in your collection:
28 Days Later
American Pie
Anchorman
Austin Powers in Goldmember
BASEketball
Ghostbusters 1 and 2
The Girl Next Door
Jurassic Park 1 and 2
Van Wilder
Nightmare On Elm Street
Old School
Road Trip
Seven
Spider-man
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Troy
Wayne's World

Ones you can probably deal without:
Fight Club
When A Stranger Calls
Alexander
Dumb and Dumberer

The rest are either alright or I haven't see them. You got a pretty decent collection going on there. I noticed some good horror classics in there so you might be interest in these movies
Halloween (at least 1 and 2)
Friday The 13th (at least 1-4, 6 and 7)
Suspiria
Carrie (1976)
The Exorcist
Dead Alive
The rest of the Child's Play Series
Rest of The Nightmare on Elm Street Series
Hostel
High tension
Psycho
The Birds
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)
The Omen (Original)
The Thing (John Carpenter)
Freddy VS Jason
Final Destination 1-3

As far as other movies go you might want to complete your Ninja Turtles and American Pie Collections

Other suggestions:
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
Eurotrip
Goodfellas
Godfather Collection
Batman (Tim Burton)
The Stoned Age
Animal House

Hope that helps.

It's been pointed outt hat you need to stay away from Full Fram so enough said on that matter.

Seriously, don't listen to what people have to say about what you have in your collection, rather than what can be ADDED to your collection to improve it. We all have guilyt pleasures movie wise that some (or most) would laugh at, but that's ok.

If you haven't already, then I would recommend heading over to the DVD CLUB section of this site and looking into Columbia House. Once you understand the gist of that then it's easy to rotate account and get 14 DVD's for under $70 if the timing is right. Since you';re a student, I would highly recommend that route.

You should at least own a Criterion Collection DVD. That would earn you some cred.

Fight Club? Are you kidding me? That movie is like one of the best movies....ever!!!

But as to the poster, I have a lot of the movies you own. Once 300 comes out, Id suggest you pick up the 2-disc. I might of missed it on your list but Pulp Fiction isnt bad either.

I can't believe the unprovoked, remorseless beating of a younger, fellow burgeoning DVD collector who has put his heart and soul out to the discretion of the panel. So insensitive!!!

Then again, the judged has demonstrated little respect for proper OAR, taste in humor, interest in any classical or foreign film, proper DVD release version (ie no Fight Club 2D SE, no Blackhawk Down Superbit or 3D SE, no Seven 2D CE, an edited version of Nightmare on Elm Street and a R rated version of Wild Things - I mean, who doesn't want to see the uncut Denise Richards menage a trois? ..without the unnecessary Dillon) .. and well, I'll stop there. Damn him to Hell!!!!

Though really, collect what ya like, period. Who gives a hoot what others think of your tastes in film or media. I really don't understand the purpose of these types of requests. If I were you, I'd rephrase the question by asking for film recommendations that I have never considered.

IMHO you have a very J6P taste in humor and entertainment. You haven't even begun venturing into film outside of Hollywood mainstream - which is essentially dead or should be. So, you have some work to do. If you're looking for recommendations based on what DVDTalker's perception is of your interests, just say so. If not and you're solely looking for feedback .. then me thinks you're getting it.
