Yes, that is a good one. Particularly seek out "The Reconstruction" version of The Big Red One because it's closer to the late Sam Fuller's original vision before the studio took it away and recut it.

I'd love to recommend Two Women (1961), but there doesn't appear to be a decent US release of it - but I heartily second The Pianist; if you're looking for victims, how about German soldiers as victims in Cross of Iron?
