DVD Talk review of 'If....'
I read DVD Savant's DVD review of If.... at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=28691 and...I'm very glad to see one of my favorite films available again.
Another reason the film was so successful is that it appeared as the bulge of Boom-ers were entering college ... often from quite authoritarian high schools. The POV in the film is definitely that of the students, so the film connected on an emotional level as well as incorporating the rebelliousness mood of the times. And in my case, it didn't hurt that I happened to be in London at the time.
