i think people are being generally a bit over critical about the film. its not something you can really watch and expect oscar standard acting performances from. but i'd say on the whole it's entertaining and you can't really expect a lot more from a graphic novel adaptation. the visuals and special effects were very cool n i liked a lot of the very obvious fire imagery.
Eva Mendes obviously held a lot of attention for me, as well as Raquel Alessi as 'young roxanne', they look very similar, i thought the continuation was good there. so rent it sure. i'd be interested to see what the 2 disc extras are like, how much better it'd look on Blu-Ray and if we get anymore Eva.

Hulk is not a bad movie at all. It's just not a brainless action romp like a lot of people wanted it to be.

Hulk is the best comic book movie ever made IMO.

But Ghost Rider is really bad. Really, really bad. Ghost Rider doesn't do anything except twirl his chain at the bad guys. So if you are expecting good action you are out of luck.

And the story is so muddled you don't know really what it is you are supposed to be caring for or what the big deal is what with that bad guys want.

Advice: avoid

I couldn't agree more.
I just saw GR this past weekend and wasn't expecting anything more than a popcorn action flick, but it doesn't even get to that level. I'm really glad I didn't blind buy this.

I bought it as a Blind buy and I have seen worse movies. I mean its no big time action flick but I plan to keep it in my collection and maybe watch again. And I dont know why people dont like Nic Cage. He is one of the best actors around. Alot better then the newer generation of actors.

I don't know why people are crapping all over Hulk. It was a good movie! It's only fault was that it assumed the audience was smarter then they really were.

As for Ghost Rider, it's a terrible, terrible movie. Nic Cage has made some crap movies but this piece of terd is not even worth a rental.

AVOID!!!!

Ghost Rider had it's moments. It looked great, featuring a Ghost Rider that looked like it was yanked right out of the comics and put on screen. There was a cute moment when he whistled for his bike, and it came to him. And Nick Cage is cool.

But it's boring and stupid. A lot of creative talent wasted on a bad script. It's worth a rental, because it's fun to look at, but turn your brain off first.

Well, for me its worth every single exclusive I got out of it!

Nic Cage is a comic book fan (his cage name was derived from the marvel comic book) and being ghost rider was one of his dream to take part in a comic book to movie project

Someone bought me the Hulk DVD but I have yet to watch it.

I thought that GR was nice visually but a poor story, all in all. I was unimpressed with the two Spidey films I saw at the cinema and didn't bother with the third. FF2 was OK IMO but, again, nothing special. I was never moved to see the earlier Batmans films - either on the big or the little screen. The Superman films were a romp but for me do not get better with age.

Looking at the adaptations I've seen in recent years I have particularly enjoyed "V for Vendetta", "Batman Begins", "Sin City" and "Constantine".

Let down by what appeared to be some random editing was "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" which I still quite liked and would watch a sequel.

I also got a kick out of "Daredevil" which I'm led to believe was not well regarded. I thought "Hellboy" was fun although the friend with whom I watched it was unimpressed. We both enjoyed X-Men 2.

I enjoyed "A History of Violence", and a couple of the Blade films which I saw on video.

In this company, Hulk would have to be something special to find itself at the top of my list.

Huh? Am I missing something here? Nic Cage can't act? wtf. whats wrong with you peeps.

Have any of you seen Cage in these movies?
Leaving Las Vegas (won Best Actor Oscar)
Matchstick Men
World Trade Center
Vampires Kiss
Raising Arizona
Red Rock West
Wild At Heart
The Rock
Bringing Out The Dead
Adaptation
Face/Off
National Treasure
Moonstruck
Honeymoon In Vegas

I could go on and on, but there are not many actors working in Hollywood that have as many great films on their resume as Nicolas Cage. I mean look at his imdb profile, this guy has been in some awesome films, looking at it, I was quite impressed that I actually enjoyed most of his movies, and how many of them I thought he was great in.

I have not seen Ghost Rider yet, but now I may give it a rent. Oh, and Hulk was an awesome movie, I really think it's great!

I even thought he was excellent in The Weather Man! which is a nice film. Man, has this guy made some great films.

I *barely* made it through this. The acting was so, so bad. The script was horrible. "You.....guilty". The effects were for shit as well. This movie made Fantastic Four look like an Oscar contender.

IMO, GR was absolutely horrible. I felt that the CG effects could have been better, the action sequences were devoid of action (since every fight between GR and the bad guys amount to bad guy attacks GR and GR does a single trick that kills said bad guy), script and dialogue were nonsensical, the main bad guy posed no credible threat... should I go on?

The best part of this movie was Eva Mendes and her cleavage... and while I won't complain about that, I don't go see movies just to check out hot chicks.

I saw it in the movies and thought it was crap. The CGI stuff was cool on a childish, Saturday morning cartoons level, but the script was pretty bad!
