Recommend some good 70's/80's Sci Fi

Ok, so Battle Beyond the Stars and The Black Hole are two of my favorite movies. I also loved The Last Starfighter, Tron and Explorers. Recommend me some other movies in the same vein. I have seen Starcrash aka Female Space Invaders and it was pretty bad, though seeing Joe Spinell and Caroline Munro together (as they were in Maniac and The Last Horror Film/Fanatic) was great.

I'll second Disc-Flipper's list and add Cherry 2000 with Melanie Griffith. It's been years since I've seen it. So, I bet it's cheesy as can be.

Most of these probably aren't what you're looking for, but they're fun sci-fi. Robert Wise's The Andromeda Strain is great. Colossus: The Forbin Project is really superior. There are the four Planet of the Apes sequels from the '70s (Conquest is probably the best of those). Douglas Trumbull's Silent Running is good, with Bruce Dern.

Re: Recommend some good 70's/80's Sci Fi

During the 1970s, Star Wars reignited interest in science fiction!
