Anime like Kamichu?

Hello,

I've been watching the Kamichu series and I really love it. I've done some research and have been unable to identify a particular person or production company responsible for the feel/look of Kamichu. So I was wondering if anyone here knew of other work by the same group or could recommend similar Anime with the same art/story high standards and feel(besides the obvious Miyazaki comparisons)?

Thanks in advance...

I would recommend the following-

Azumanga Daioh-cute, feel good anime about a group of high school girls.
Kaleido Star-feel good anime about a young girl trying to make it in the circus.
Petite Princess Yucie-cute, magical girl series.
R.O.D. the TV-same production company as Kamichu, action series that follows 3 sisters with magical powers.
Strawberry Marshmallow-extremely cute series that follows the everyday lives of 4 preteen girls and one of the girls older sister.

Here's a good link to more info regarding Kamichu-

Sweet Baby James... I went to Fry's and took a look at these Titles. I'm not really a fan of the type of Anime art in the first three series. The R.O.D. art looks good to me( I have some R.O.D. previews at home and I will give them a second look). Strawberry Marshmallow looked pretty good and caught my interests. Can you tell me how kid safe SM is?

Thanks again...

I'd have to advise against Read or Die. It's not a bad series but it's not like Kamichu, at least not all the time. It does have some cute "slice of life" stuff but it's primarily an action series and can get pretty violent.

I'll have to second the recommendation for Azumanga Daioh. A higher quantity of cuteness does not exist.

If you're looking for more ideas and suggestions I reccomend this place.

I assume that you meant to write SM instead of MM. Strawberry Marshmallow is extremely kid safe(no fan service, no violence or foul language). It's rated 13 and up, but it should have been rated lower. Afterall, the title of the first volume is "Cute is as Cute Does". Check out this thread before you buy anything at Fry's-

You can also freely ask for advice in that thread and you'll receive many more responses than you'll probably get in this thread.

Good news-Geneon is releasing a Strawberry Marshmallow Box Set on July 3. The list price for the set is $59.99, so the street price should be around $35-$40.
