recommed some black comedy

Would any like to recommend some must-see or good black comedy films? Also, could you rate each one on a scale from 1-10 based on your opinion. (I hope this doesn't start a feud)

I'm new to this genre so I haven't seen any films yet.

I love Alex de la Iglesia stuff. Check out Muertos de Risa and Crimen Ferpecto. both of which have been reviewed at the site.

What have you seen?

My favorites would be:
Election and Fargo
I also like the Cable Guy, even though I usually don't care for Jim Carey.

Almost forgot my favorite movie: Dr. Strangelove. O

None, yet or maybe I just didn't know they were black comedy. I ordered Barking Dogs Never Bite and Election a week ago, so they should be here anytime soon.

I did see The Cable Guy when I was around 13 and didn't understand it at the time. I will probably pick up The Cable Guy sometime this month.

I've always liked Death Becomes Her and War of the Roses.

A splatter/comedy classic is Dead Alive.

My taste is probably not the blackest of the black, but I think these probably are on the darker edge of comedy and are all films I enjoyed.

Duplex
The Burbs
Saved
Arsenic and Old Lace
Clue the Movie
A Fish Called Wanda
Office Space

That would Black comedy, I suppose. Like Car Wash.

The Ladykillers (2004)
No, no, no, no, no! Watch The Ladykillers (1955) -- it's far superior.

And of course, Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) is the king of all black comedies.

Probably my favorite black comedy is The Opposite of Sex with Christina Ricci as a trashy sex-starved harlot.

Some of the humor is crude and vicious, so if you are the easily offended type, I wouldn't recommend it. But otherwise, it's a great movie.

The first thing that comes to my mind when asked for "must see" black comedy is "Dr Strangelove". Other black comedy classics off the top of my head: MASH, Network, The Hospital.

If you want dark standup comedy you should not pass up Bill Hicks... one of the greatest comedians ever, a true genius who'll be forever missed.
