BBC Narnia remasters -- any good?

Image/Home Vision has put out new editions of the first 2 BBC Narnia discs:

http://www.image-entertainment.com/d...roductID=50556
http://www.image-entertainment.com/d...roductID=50558

with the third one coming soon, I assume.

I had been ignoring these since I assumed they were just simple repackagings. But apparently, they've been remastered with better picture quality and 5.1 sound. I can seem to find any reviews out there -- anyone have the scoop? Worth the upgrade? Not?

I've held off on getting these for sometime now, and I think it was because I read somewhere that there were a few edits here and there. Not really censorship edits, but maybe edits for time for broadcast reasons that didn't get put back in. If those have been restored, it might be time to pick these up.

I can't really remember, I'd have to start digging around various DVD forums to find the post again. It's so old that I'm not even sure anymore. I just know that whenever I see one of the old versions on the shelf at the store, I instinctively pass it by because I remember reading about a problem with it.

Actually, I didn't realize there were two different versions. There was a BBC live action, and a PBS live-action, and an animated? (and the recent live action).

three really, if you want to be picky:

1) animated
2) 2005 live action feature length film
3) BBC/PBS version live action mini-series

So the BBC/PBS is the same version?

I'll try to remember where I saw that about the cuts and post back.
