I'm Thinking about getting the Dust Devil and Dark Waters LE's on DDD. Any Advice????

The Limited Editions of both these movies look good content-wise. I'm a huge horror fan, but I've never heard of either of these movies until recently. The prices are significantly lower in the current deepdiscountdvd sale. So my question is basically, are these 2 sets worth a blind buy of nearly $40 for the pair? Any info would be appreciated. Maybe if someone could compare the films to other familiar things or similar recommendations....Thanks.

What forum would that be? That's why I seldom post on these things. Somebody always tells me that. Call me crazy. I thought this classified as DVD TALK, and that's what the forum said.

I just ordered the dark water LE from amazon last night. As for Dust devil I really liked it but I could understand is not for all. The commentary track is worth at least half the set to me. That is if you enjoy non stop talking.

I have both that I ordered from XploitedCinema and am pleased with both. Still going through the extras on both.

It was this revew of Dust Devil that put me over the top and convinced me to order this and Dark Waters.

COOL. Thanks for the input guys! Love those 2 reviews in particular. They're looking very tempting now.

I'd say yes on both accounts. Submersive did an amazing job with the Dust Devil DVD. And although Bill didn't love the film he LOVED the DVD:

And I know that Ian was estatic about Dark Waters:

Noshame really put a lot of time and effort into making Dark Waters a must own package.

Both titles ARE truly limited, so I'd say they are both worth going for.

Thanks a lot for the input, Geoffrey. If you recommend them too I think I'll go all out and get them both while I still can. Thanks again.

I ordered Dark Waters through Amazon. Price was pretty good at $22.xx

For collectors who want it all, there's an exclusive deal at DiabolikDVD. Included with the usual set is an autographed bookmark signed by the director. I almost went for it but it's almost $10 more than Amazon. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out: Dark Waters at DiabolikDVD

Dust Devil is the most amazing DVD release this year film wise, and collection wise. Stanley's documentaries are worth viewing and his interviews are even better than the films. DDD has it on sale right now even for around 16.00.

I received my copy of Dark Waters today.

VERY nice package. The box that houses the DVDs, booklet and amulet is about the size of a thick hardcover book. The amulet is bigger than I expected.... about 5" in diameter... and fairly heavy. The booklet is nicely done but too big to fit inside the DVD case (which is a good as well as a bad thing).

If anyone is interested in pics, I could post some later.

I went ahead and ordered both at DDD for just under $39 for both. They've both shipped, so I guess I'll be getting them soon now. Dust Devil took a few days to ship because I guess so many people got in on the deal at first that they had to restock that title. I hope the Dark Waters DVD isn't too big. I'm already at a loss as to where to put too many more DVDs as it is. Thanks for all the info guys.
