Review Request: FIRESTARTER--The Franchise Collection

I curious to hear any observations about FIRESTARTER: The Franchise Collection; this is the one that includes FIRESTARTER 2: REKINDLED, but I couldn't care less about that one and you need not review it here. I am, however, dying to know about the transfer of the original Drew Barrymore film. Is it, as the packaging states, anamorphic? And how is the image quality? Are there any extras for the original film (again, I don't care about the unwelcome sequel), even a trailer? Thanks for any input...

I can't find reviews of it anywhere and have searched various dvd and horror sites.

Anyway I pressume the specs listed on the dvd are correct and it is 16.9 enhanced. I'm sure the quality is good and tolerable. So I would advise to just buy the damn thing if the price is right. And then report back on your findings when you do

And I have been meaning to pick this up sometime as well. But I'll probably order it online when I do. Since I could only find it at Borders for full retail, which is too much for me,since I only want the original film.

It's on the agenda, but between awesome sales at Target and Circuit City this month for catalog titles, and DeepDiscountDVD's Fox and Paramount Buy 2, Get 1 Free sales, I've already invested in far more DVDs this month than I'd originally planned, so it'll probably have to wait until June.

Almost a waste of money

1.dvd is double-sided, firestarter 1 on one side, firestarter 2 on the other.

2. Sound is PRO LOGIC, and rather poor separation.

3. NO extras at all.

4. Picture is 2:35/1 widescreen. Quality is about that of good vcr.

great movie, horrible dvd......

Yikes! Is it anamorphic/enhanced for widescreen TVs?
