It makes for a pretty good rental.

As stated above - visuals are pretty good. Story gets a little underwhelming. Keanu and Rachel Weisz are pretty serviceable and entertaining to watch. Tilda Swinton is amazing, as always.

Definitely worth a rent, especially if you appreciate the gothic action genre and/or you like Keanu Reeves.

I enjoyed it. Keanu acted like Keanu, but the rest of it was pretty good. Definately rent it first.

After seeing it once, I did not really know what to think, but when I saw it the second time (with director's commentary), I liked it much better. I recently read the novelization and that also gives some more detail.

I've found that a quick search will reveal alot of reviews/talk about a movie without waiting for replies to a new thread.

For the record, I liked it. I won't pretend that it's a great movie, not many are anymore, but it's slightly better than most average flicks out today..

Ebert put it on his Worst Of The Year list, for what that's worth.

It's not a bad premise, but it turns to crap midway during the second act. All logic thrown out the window in favor of cramming as many special effects as possible on the screen. I don't regret seeing it in the theatre, but I couldn't make it through a second viewing on cable.

This is a prime example of a film that SERIOUSLY needed a script doctor. And a better lead actor.

I dont know if I would call it VERY good...But not a bad movie. Its a what you see is what you get and has its moments. Saw it in the theatres and was entertained by it, and picked it up used at BB for pretty cheap. Definitely worth a rental, and maybe a buy if you can get a good deal for it.

Anyone else find the dialogue a little muddy on the 5.1 track? I could barely hear most of the characters sometimes.
Pretty decent movie. I loved the way the characters were portrayed, espescially Lucifer, Balthazar and Gabriel.
