^Agreed, especially considering they already used the "Unrated Director's Cut" label. The amount of features, however skimpy they may all be, is also another good clue. If a re-release were planned, it would have likely been even more bare so as what extras they had could pad out the super deluxe special limited edition.
I only somewhat hope for some big japanese or korean set where the discs come packaged in a big zombie head or some shit.

DVD Talk review of 'Land of the Dead - Unrated Director's Cut'
I read David Walker's DVD review of Land of the Dead - Unrated Director's Cut at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=18222 and...
A pot-shot at George Lucas? Jesus, off-point, childish, and as usual with these "Oh,I love star wars, ...but I hate star wars" goofs, they dont get the point.
I'm now leary of Land of the dead because of this reviewers "taste"

The review sounds interesting.. would this film makes sense if I've never seen any of the others? (I own the remake of his one, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet)

Blockbuster will not carry this title. I just found out today at my local store. They are having some problem with Universal and carry very few of their titles. I wondered why they only had ten copies of Unleashed.

My thoughts about the movie are closer to Ian's, although that's not meant as a veiled slam against what David wrote or anything. I also thought the anemic characterization was a big downside, and the whole Dead Reckoning thing didn't really grab my attention. I found the movie okay enough for me to go out and buy it this evening, but I'd also probably rank this as my least favorite of Romero's 'dead' series.

DVDTalk's review Land of the Dead has major concerns with a shoddy video transfer in that the dark scenes are set too dark - even though I bought the disc today - I am still tad disappointed that this one review made such a stink over a less than perfect film to video conversion - oh well.

Nice nod to Romero's legacy in The Onion today:

I was just wondering why in the 'audio' portion of the dvd talk review, no mention of the DTS track is made??
The copy I have has DD and DTS which is usually listed in the review-

Maybe it was an oversight. Or it could be David doesn't have DTS capability... but usually they will mention that the disc will have a DTS track even though they can't review it.
