DVD Talk review of 'Mail Order Wife'
I read Svet Atanasov's DVD review of Mail Order Wife at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=18033 and... (shaking my head) you ruined one of the great joys of this film. You gave away that it wasn't a real doc. How could you do that?

Allow me to address your comment by pointing out that in my humble opinion whether or not this is revealed as a documentary or "pseudo-documentary" from the very begining detracts very little from the enormous charm of the film. It is the social overtones that I find so distracting. I really did not view the film as the "wicked ride" Rolling Stone clasified it as...Mail Order Wife touched some quite different strings in me...and I barely laughed...if at all.

Well to each his own ... I just thought you should have let people have the revalation for themselves. Much of the comedy comes from the disbelief that this is really happening. But your point is taken.
