Which Alein to get?
I want to watch the original Alien movie and my rental outlet has two different copies. I think one was an aniversary issue and other is the directors cut.
Thinking of the directors cut because it may seem fresher to me as I saw it many years ago.
Your thoughts?

My first thought is you posted to the wrong forum
which is why it got moved.
My second thought is I didn't really care for the director's cut of Alien (Aliens on the other hand I enjoyed more [except for a few bits] and it really helped Alien3). If you get the 5 star/anniversary version (or what ever they call it) you should have the option of the original or the DC though.

The "Director's Cut" disc offers both the original and new cuts of the film. It has better picture and sound quality than the old DVD, so I would go for that disc but watch the original cut.

I was going to just tell you to get the one in the cardboard digipack, not the one in the keepcase, but then I realized that since you were renting it, it may be in a keepcase anyway. Just look for the one with this cover:

(Nemein might have inadvertently steered you to the old edition because it says "20th Anniversary Edition" on it.)
