Season one is a very good blind buy (especially for $30). Most of the episodes from the Muppet Show that I have seen before were from season two and beyond, but there are some great ones in the first. Even the "bad" guest star episodes have some worthwhile moments.

From everything I've heard, these shows all have the original musical numbers intact. If so, then credit is due to Disney (and believe me, I'm no fan of theirs) for expending the resources to secure all of the rights and issue all of the shows complete. Let's hope this doesn't slack off with the subsequent season sets.

Oops, I take it all back. Apparently a number of the episodes have deleted musical numbers ... see here:

Picked up today based on the review! Got a fuzzy cover at Target! Forgot how much fun I had watching the muppets!

I personally hope that they keep the rest of the covers fuzzy. I wonder what other characters they'll use.

You can really tell the episodes they cut. Not only are they a good 4 minutes shorter, the transitions between them isn't the best.
