DVD Talk review of 'Fantastic Four - The Complete Animated Series'
I read John Sinnott's DVD review of Fantastic Four - The Complete Animated Series at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=16659 and... I'm glad I waited to read the review before I bought the set, Thanks!

I am too. I was slightly considering it (though I probably would've waited for a better sale anyway)....but since only half of it's good I don't think I'm gonna bother at all.

Well, I honestly wasn't a huge fan of Fantastic Four when it originally aired. I liked X-Men, and FF was just boring. I decided to buy the DVD and try it out now that there really aren't many good cartoons like this in this day and age. Season One really is awful to watch. The animation is terrible, and the FF look like a bunch of old men from the 1960's. Terrible. Season Two does dramatically improve the set though. The episodes open up with a situation and lead into the new opener, which is really good (no cheesy song) and the closer is also not a cheesy song. The animation is a bit darker and definitely better. Even the closing credits were an improvement. The only thing I can't figure out about this set is why they chose the Season One characters to base the artwork on the box on. The movie bases its costumes on the Season Two characters, and since this set came out when the movie did, I can't figure out why they would base it on the old cheesy characters. All in all, it is worth checking out just for the Second Season. Anyone have a link or information on the Second Season change and who Marvel went with to improve this series?
