I have a $25 gift code for Amazon that is burning a hole in my inbox. The early favorites are the Life Aquatic 2 Disc (which I just can't seem to get very excited about) and Rules of the Game Criterion (though I'd like to keep it closer to $25).

I would like to keep my order as close to $25 as possible to get free shipping and minimize out of pocket expenses. Also, I can't bring myself to spend this on anything I could get significantly cheaper elsewhere (including Columbia House).

As I've said MANY times before, I think Rules of the Game is the greatest movie ever made. Since the Criterion DVD is filled with more extras and supplements than I could have ever hoped, I'd have to say that it's the greatest DVD ever released of an individual film. If I could only have one DVD to watch for the rest of my life, this would be it, no question.

I agree with wendersfan.

I'd go for The Rules of the Game. The extras on it are incredibly insightful.

I have Clerks X and I've never really been into the horror genre.

Whether you're a horror fan or not, DOTD UE should be in every film-lovers collection. It transcends the genre like few other films.

Oh and the only Star Wars flick you got is Episode I?

Get Episode II and the Trilogy set, forget everything else!

I only got Ep. 1 because it was $2.29 thanks to a Buy.com price mistake. Eventually I might get the original trilogy, but it's not high on my list of priorities.


I do own Shaun of the Dead! That has to count for something, right?

Arrested Development season 1, Scrubs season 1, 24 discs, Family Guy season 1-3, or something completely different than my other recommendations Requiem for a Dream. Most of these will put you over $25 but all well worth it.

Everyone knows that the best film ever made is The Bicycle Thief. You can pick that up for 19.99. The best American film since The Godfather (and may be the best American film, period) is probably Hoop Dreams, which you can pick up for 20.96. Add shipping to either, and ba-boom, $25 spent.
