I Hope The Manson Family Was a Good Blind Buy
I was hoping to rent this movie. But my job (Blockbuster) didn't get the movie. We were supposed to but it never came in. So I went to a smaller video store and they didn't have it. So I just bought it at Best Buy today, so I hope that was the right choice. Has Anyone seen this film?

It was $19.99 for the 2 disc unrated
I haven't finished watching it, but I'm regretting buying this. It's not as good as people have said, IMO

It's no surprise if Blockbuster decided not to pick this up. If I remember correctly from when I worked there quite a few years ago, they don't carry anything stronger than an R rating...and this film was made with NC-17 in mind from what I remember hearing the director say.
Tons of nudity/sex type scenes, and one scene looks like some actual sexual stuff may have been going on. Hell, I don't think I'd be able to control myself if I were totally nude and an attractive woman was totally nude stradling on top of me and simulating sex with me.
Of course...that's just me.
I should also say that this was a blind buy for me...I guess I'm enough of a Manson "fan" that I wanted to pick it up. I enjoy reading/watching various things about him, the "Family" etc. I'm glad I picked it up, but I don't know if I'd watch it again. Kind of like "I Spit On Your Grave (AKA: Day of the Woman)" (I think the Spit on Grave is accurate, but I KNOW the AKA is accurate). Glad I've seen it, but don't know if I could watch it again.
Ebert was right (and I guess I'll just throw in the mandatory "proof he's lost it" statement here) in saying that this film is a genre of it's own: "This is not a 'horror' film or an 'underground' film, but an act of transgression so extreme and uncompromised, and yet so amateurish and sloppy, that it exists in a category of one film -- this film."
