Personally I cannot wait to "See Saw" again! I loved it...moody, dark, disturbing and I enjoyed the ending....

even though I have ran into many mixed reviews of this movie, I decided to blind-buy it today. I actually enjoyed the movie. even though the ending wasn't that great, it wasn't as bad as a lot of reviews I read made it out to be.

I absolutely love the film as well, and i agree with those that felt the ending "twist" was great.

I just watched it after picking it up as a blind buy, and although I would say that overall I liked it, I also have to say that the plot was the most contrived I have ever witnessed in a horror movie, and will stretch the suspension of disbelief well beyond the breaking point for many viewers. After Silence of the Lambs, Se7en, Copycat and so forth, haven't we all had enough of the preternaturally brilliant serial killers blessed with apparently unlimited resources, patience, and luck to enact their elaborate (and absurd/pointless) murder scenarios? That whole sub-genre seems pretty played out to me at this point. I won't cite all of the plot holes that you could drive a truck through, but just suffice to say there are many and they're bigger than the Chunnel. And although Se7en suffered with all of the same problems, it was still a much better and more disturbing film (and not nearly as derivative).

On the positive side, I will say that the acting wasn't as bad as some reviewers have painted it, although I thought Danny Glover's performance was pretty laughable - either just plain bad, or he was playing it as if his character had some kind of brain injury. Also, you have to give the filmmakers credit for doing a lot with what looked to be a relatively small budget. I could have done without the hyper-editing flourishes, and that pseudo-chase scene near the end produced some chuckles.

Surprise endings actually rarely surprise me, unless they are just far-fetched and contrived. Which this one was - so yes, I was surprised by it. That could be either good or bad, depending on your tolerance for ridiculousness. I don't hold horror films to too high of a standard with regards to this, so I didn't mind it so much. It did wrap up the film in a more satisfying manner than where it seemed headed.

Anybody else have difficulty in getting the store sticker off? I noticed Wal-Mart and Circuit City have similar stickers in the same place (they had the cheapest price, too: 14.99). I tried to peel one in the store and couldn't get the residue off while I was there. I hate to buy any DVD that will have a noticable defect while sitting on my shelf.

Anybody encounter this? Solutions? The most obvious, of course, is to go to a store that doesn't have that type of sticker. Even the pictures by Scott1598 seem to have the residue at the upper right.

Mine had the sticker, and it was a pain to slowly peel that baby off, but once I got it off, I just wiped the residue off with rubbing alcohol, and now the cover is pristine. No real problem, just took 5 minutes of effort.

I bought this yesterday and didn't inspect the case. When I got home I noticed that the slip case was all scratched to hell and back. Anyone else get one like this? Why didn't they put plastic on the outside of the package? Oh well I will be returning this today I hope they don't give me any problems.

My current column features, ahem, Jigsaw. Click on the Goth Gal for extra stills.

Spoiler:
It's a shame the great Tobin Bell isn't really allowed his due. Another of my favorite character actors.

got mine at circuit city as well. they did the same thing with the Leon: The Professional SE, which was annoying. all I had to do with the back sticker was pick at it for a while and get all parts of the paper sticker left, so that I only had that sticky residue. then I took some scotch tape to it for a while, and it took all the residue off with no problem.

yeah why does Cicuit City feel the need to place their big-ass, 1/3 of the dvd sized price stickers on them? Just never seemed to fit...
