Friday the 13th box set REVIEW!!!

Well here it is everybody. The much awaited first review (courtesy of horrordvds.com) for the upcoming Friday the 13th box set. Although positive, there are still many things that could have or should have been included.

I'll let you guys decide for yourself after reading and tell me what you think...

I'll pick it up at Best Buy just for the bonus disc.

Nice review. Of course I want the uncut versions but apparently that's not going to happen.

I like the fact that it takes up a third of the shelf space of the originals. Nice little touch for people with huge DVD collections. Plus, it's just easier to just buy all 8 films in one set then trying to find all 8 DVDs over time. I assure you, Best Buy does not have all 8 at their store right now.

Too bad that "Scary Trailers" feature wasn't included, but glad to see that they aren't hiding the excised gore footage from viewers.

I still want this set and I'm all for "Friday 2-0"

Last I checked, most stores tend to sell them for less then MSRP...Maybe a $45-$50 is what it will be on the first week.

the MSRP is $79.99

I'd say at least $60 for it...

He just got more "rotten" looking as the series went along.

Spoiler:
Keep in mind that he was dead in the beginging of part 6 and was brought back to life by Tommy. He was pretty decomposed at that point

kevin-- plus commentaries on 4 of the films. I am betting thats the big draw for the fans of the series. Too bad they didn't include commentaries on ALL the films. And too bad they didn't include the features on the region 2 dvd of part 1 as well as the cut footage incorporated into the film like that version. I am glad I have my copy of it.

The review was pretty good. The set seems like a compromise to please both the fans and new blood. It could have been even better with more additions (Hello, where are the extras on part 2, my favorite of the series?!!!) But it seems worth the buy... That is for a discount at a local best buy or online somewhere.

Maybe you can search for/start a thread about it over in the Movie Forum where a question like that is more appropriate.

This thread is about the boxset....

So, with that said, I'll be all over this since I never picked up the original discs.... especially since I can find it sub $60

It runs about 30 minutes and was done at a convention. It features a Q&A with all the guys who played Jason through the years.

Blockbuster Video had this up for pre-order for about $27 (a thread is in the DVD Bargains section), but that deal seems to be dead now. I wasn't interested anyway, I'll pay extra to get`the extra disc.

Ehhhh...that's not really worth the extra $10 compared to Amazon.

If someone could STL, I'd be most appreciative .
