most people on the forum really love this show and shun nbc at cancelling it last season.

Hell yes. Best drama of the 2002-03 season if you ask me.

I LOOOOOVED that show. Cried a little tear when it was kiiled after two eps of S2. Definately worth picking up, esp. at the bargain-basement DDD price (though you know since it's Artisan, it'll be selling new for $12 in a few months).
I'll post impressions once my DVD arrives via super-slow media mail. But rest assured, the series is worth it. If you liked Band of Brothers, you'll like this (same writers, same actors).

Well, it came in the mail today. God, it's hideous packaging, cheap and flimsey. There are audio commentaries on six episodes. Haven't yet watched it, but I'm really glad it was released at last.

BTW, my previous post mentioned Artisan, but this disc now says Lion's Gate. I don't know if that's a different publisher or just a different branch of the same company...

DDD == Deep Discount DVD

Their price is $26.95 with free (but slow) shipping.

Lions Gate should have just released the whole series. The show was pulled after 2 episodes this season, but 4 more aired over a weekend in December, thus that would make 24 total with the 18 on this set. Now, the 6 from this past season (which were very good) will probably never see the light of day on DVD.

Absolutely right. I have no idea why the did that. I missed the four "dumped" episodes and doubt I'll ever see then now. (Though to be fair, I thought the first two were very conventional for TV dramas, and not up to the Boomtown standard). tvshowsondvd.com had reported originally that the set would be six discs with all the episodes, and that the cast had done a couple of commentaries for S2 episodes. Now I just have to hope this set sells well.

So everyone GO BUY IT!!!!!

Hmm, I love CSI, NYPD Blue, Law & Order and other cop shows...
I'm thinking of getting this as a blind buy. Seems good, and unlike other shows I won't have to put down a lot of money as there's only 1 season.

There was a second season, but the show was cancelled after only a few episodes into it.
