DVD Talk review of 'South Park: The Complete Fourth Season'

I read Jason Bovberg's DVD review of South Park: The Complete Fourth Season at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=11342 and... you mention that paramount was the reason for the season 1 debacle over the commentaries. it in fact was warner who distributed the first 2 seasons. warner was upset about some of the content regarding the movie contact.

Sheesh, I knew that. I even reviewed Season 2.

Fixed, thanks!

How many seasons are they up to now on air? These set couldn't come fast enough for me.

That's a lot of DVDs I'm going to have to buy and they're still going.

I wonder - with Paramount now re-releasing Seasons 1 & 2, is there any reason not to include the commentaries anymore?

They're re-releasing S1 & S2?

Well, releasing, not re-releasing.

Paramount owns the video rights to all seasons of South Park now.

Paramount released seasons 1 and 2 under the Paramount logo on Tuesday, 29 June, which AFAIK are exactly the same as the original Warner releases, only at a higher price point ($49.99 rather than $39.99 MSRP).

Can anyone confirm they're otherwise the same?

Rypro 525 07-02-04 12:05 AM

if paramount cut the annoying indroductions for season 1 and 2 and or made them skipable, id rebuy them in a second

jough 07-02-04 03:10 PM

What annoying introuctions? From Matt & Trey? Or was it an annoying WB ad?

those damn skits/introductions for the first 2 seasons, season 1 is a really low budget thing with an indian and the other one was with bacon i think.

I didn't rebuy the Season 1 box (to replace the single disc volumes) until I could confirm those skits were still on there. More Matt and Trey is always a good thing.

Fingerbang bang bang. Very funny episode.

Apart from including the commentries, I can't see why they would re-release the first few seasons.........TIMMY!

They're actually not rereleasing them.

Warner Bros. released the first two seasons.

Before the third season came out Paramount acquired the rights to the series.

Paramount is now putting out the first two seasons of the show for the first time.

They are identical to the WB sets except for the logo on the packaging and logo on the discs.
