How is this movie? I really haven't heard much about it.
The film was a hit at the boxoffice and Lane was up for a Best Actress Golden Globe so it must be fairly well regarded.
I recommend it - worth a shot.
You'll definately wanna go to Tuscany after seeing it!

I agree with the preceeding post, I was half dragged to see the movie and ended up enjoying it. The lead female is quite attractive also, which only makes the experience easier. Go for it!

The movie was awesome as was Diane Lane. Too bad it doesnt have a great amount of suppliments though. It will sell a lot of copies regardless, most probably on Valentines day.

Rented this one for something to watch with the wife - if this isn't a chick flick I don't know what is. Great views of Italian countryside, but the story seemed like an Oxygen network fable. Pretty sappy. The filmmakers pat themselves on the back for not presenting a routine love story where the heroine meets the man of her dreams in the first half hour. I actually thought Diane Lane was miscast. She's a beauty alright, but I think she looks embarassed to be playing some of the scenes. She's too good an actress for the role.

My wife bought the DVD (one of the few times she has ever bought one, I have bought over 250) and we watch it last night.
Nice little movie. I am glad it is not the normal love story, it made it more enjoyable to watch without being a cookie cutter type movie.
The bright sceens looked awesome on an HDTV, the country side side pictures (which happen at almost every Chapter stop in Italy. But, there was some grain in the dark or not so bright sceens. The beauty far out played the grain, we would pause it and take a deep breath when some of the landscape shots pop up.
Good rental, great buy if you like to have a great date movie on hand that also shows off the outdoor beuatiful of Italy.

I wonder how much it cost to put digitally create that 'thong'?
The colors are sooo vibrant on this transfer. Beautiful!
Anyone know if this was shot widescreen or pan-and-scan?
