Which DVD version of Alex Kingston's MOLL FLANDERS is better?

I was wondering about which DVD of MOLL FLANDERS offers the better overall picture/sound quality, the 1998 Anchor Bay or the 2002 BFS/MU 2-disc edition. Also, is the new version uncut? I have seen it listed with a running time of 190 mins. However, the '98 version claims a running time of 220 mins (3 hrs 40 mins).
I currently own the 1998 AB edition and I am not really interested in the "extras" of the new edition, so is the new version worth upgrading to?
Any info is appreciated.
