What are the differences between the two current releases?
One says The Thin Red Line and the other The Thin Red Line- DTS except both of them have both DD/DTS with the same features. The Fox Classic one says it came out after the DTS one so did anything change?

I didn't like The Thin Red Line at all. Although I tend not to like war films that much, this one, which wasn't really a war film in the traditional sense, just wasn't interesting and was long AS HELL. I didn't get involved with the film and I hated the cameo appearances by lots of Hollywood celebrities. Overall, it just didn't entertain me and wasn't my type of movie.
Let it be said that I also didn't like Saving Private Ryan that much. Sure, it was good, and I enjoyed it a lot more than TTRL, but overall, I believe it to be over-rated. The same goes for Apocalypse Now (original version), which was also too boring and pretentious for me. However, I did enjoy every single scene that Robert Duvall was in.
In case you're wondering, the only two war films I have *seen* that I've liked have been Black Hawk Down and We Were Soldiers. I haven't seen Platoon yet, but I will eventually.

- Original disc, just Dolby Digital 5.1. Includes some Melanese songs as a supplement.
- DTS re-release. Dropped the songs (not an important loss IMO).
- Fox War Classics repackage of the DTS disc.

Thanks Joshua. I was hoping that's all it was as I picked up the DTS one from DDD with the coupon. Seems like the type of movie I will want to give two viewings to regardless of what I think the first time.
