Wiseguy Boxed Set Reviews?

Haven't seen it, but I thought I heard that they were forced to replace all the music on the soundtrack with generic substitutes. Can anyone confirm?

I'm waiting for a copy to come in which I'll review. My understanding about the music is that the score is the same but some of the songs were going to be too expensive so they opted to replace them rather than not be able to release the series at all. I also hear that aside from the first arc, a couple of episodes were taken from later seasons. We'll see...
PS: Let me know if there's anything specific you want me to address in the review.

Thanks for the review. Since wiseguy didn't really revolve around music, not having the original music wont hurt it. Don't get me wrong I would love too have the original music but the acting and the great story arcs are what made wiseguy great. One show that I would love to get on dvd but would not buy if the original music was taken out would be Miami Vice. By the why I saw a copy of the box set at suncoast last night for $70.00 Why to pricey, am going to wait for tuesday. Bestbuys $48 is a good deal.

Can anyone who's seen this tell me if "Nights in White Satin" and "Good Love" was removed from the final scene in the last episode? Sonny sings along to Good Love while trashing the place so I'm wondering how the heck they could have removed/changed it. And White Satin was even more powerful.
Please give any details you can. Thanks!

Just got the first set & the trailer indicated that they will be releasing 6 total sets. Anyone have any idea what season that will cover? Also if I rember correctly season five where Vinnie was missing was canceled & never resolved. Anyone know if I'm correct or if that story line got resolved in the movie they did a couple years later?

DVD set 2 - Profitt
DVD set 3 - White Supremacy & Garment Trade,
DVD set 4 - D.C. & Turf Wars/Mafia
DVD set 5 - Lynchboro/ Public Poison (adn the Steven Bauer eps?)DVD set 6 - Dead Dog Records
I would guess each set will have stand-alone episodes as well.
Did the movie resolve it? Not really, at least not the way Wiseguy fans would have liked. It was done in a "typical" TV fashion- "Let's just ignore what happened."
FWIW- The episodes not only are missing music, but scenes are trimmed (Aldo singing, Vinnie and Sonny lamenting in the bar) to eliminate songs as well. Not sure how bad it is, because I only watched the pilot and last 2 episodes.

I find it interesting that the rights to Nights in White Satin was too expensive. I have the movie Shattered (with Tom Berenger), it contains the song Nights in White Satin (played practically in its entirety), and the DVD cost about $8.
That just seems strange, since it is the same song.
