Dracula 2000 Blind Buy??

I'm a big horror fan, especially of vampire/dracula movies (dating back to my childhood)...Anway, I was doing a search on Dracula on CH because I wanted to add it to my collection, and lo and behold I saw this movie Dracula 2000 by Wes Craven. For those who have it or have seen it, is it worth a blind buy? Also, it appears there is a sequel too, any opions on it?

Not worth buying.

I saw it on cable and felt ripped off.

Bad film.

Hell no.

It is NOT a Wes Craven film. It is 'Wes Craven PRESENTS;, which is the hallmark of suckity.

It's a terrible, terrible, terrible film with the bare minimum of idiotic, fractured story to allow the most awful acting possible.

Avoid.

No, don't even think about it anymore. Just avoid it.

They made a Dracula film suck. Why?

It's definately a "Style over substance" picture. Overall, the film is poor but there are some entertaining elements within the storyline. Namely, Van Helsing's "curse". It looks good but that's about it. I own it and the sequel and am looking forward to Dracula III.

I kinda like this flick--partly for the reasons mentioned by buckee1, but also because the story, albeit not well told, is entertaining. Rent it sometime.

I actually liked this movie quite a bit, but I am very partial to vampire movies. I would say that you should rent it, and see how you like it.

I kinda liked it as well.

However, avoid the sequel "Dracula II: Ascension" at all costs. It is TERRIBLE.

A bit OT, but if you're interested in vampire movies, Habit is quite entertaining and offers a different take on vampire lore. It's low budget--so expect the usual warts. Still, it's a fun movie with a strong story and some quirky characters.

I thought it was interesting because of the different take on how Dracula gave to be. So for me Dracula 2000 was a must buy.

I think the film you're looking for is Once Bitten and Lauren Hutton was the female vampire lead.

My personal favorite vampire movie is Horror of Dracula, with Christopher Lee as the Count. Love it! Pretty barebones DVD though.

It is okay, it's a pretty stylish movie, but not much script. It really is just a rental, I wouldn't waste $14 dollars.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVIE

AVOID THIS MOVIE AT ALL COSTS. It is horrible. Visually it had a few nice things going on and it began well, but after 5 - 10 minutes, when Danny Masterson (Hyde on That 70s show) appears, it started falling apart. As for the backstory of Dracula, it was f-ing ridiculous.
