I was wondering if this will be worthy a purchase or not. I've read the dvdtalk and dvdfile reviews, but will this be one of those 'once you've seen it things' you don't want to see it again. I've seen two of the shorts and they look awesome, but any thoughts besides reviews?

I suggest downloading some of the free (and totally legit) Animatrix shorts - four are available.

They're pretty cool, and I wouldn't be worried about not really wanting to see them again. However, I have an issue with this trend toward releasing mini-DVDs that contain 1/10th of the content of a regular DVD at 70% of the price (The Chubb Chubbs is another example), and with a combined runtime of less than 20 minutes, even at a substantial markdown you're still not getting much for your money.

Huh? Each of the shorts is close to 10 minutes and there are 9 of them total. I'm thinking at least an hours worth of video.

I've seen the whole thing, I'm pretty sure it runs close to 100 minutes. (There's two running 15 minutes or more)

Yup, its pretty much as long as a regular movie, and has some nice features and commentary too. By no means a mini DVD.

Oh, my bad. Retracted.

If it's 90 minutes long, I'd love to buy it. Of the two (of the four) online shorts that I've seen, one of them is excellent and one is very good.
