Star Trek:Nemesis DVD Reviews?
The Star Trek:Nemesis DVD is "streeting" on May 20th, I believe; and I have yet to find any reviews of the darn thing anywhere.
Does anybody know of any?

I have the disc on my hand right now but I'm too lazy to write any review right now.
But anyway, the disc itself has great picture and sound. The extras are above average, with several neat documentary (I especially loved the Deleted Scene), but I didn't listen to the commentary.

I also got an early copy of this last week, and would agree that pic and sound are first rate. Sound in particular is punchy and well defined, and considering the many dark scenes I di not notice any crawl or artefacts in evidence.
Extra's are ...reasonable. Compared to the wealth of material on the recent special editions, there is actually very little of substance here. Most of the features are quite short, in the 10-12 minute range, and are really just excerpts cut and pasted from what looks like an existing EPK.
What deleted scenes there are are quite good, but there is nowhere near the 45 mins that we know was cut. Oddly, only some of them have an introduction, whereas others appear with no explanation.
In the commentary, Stuart Baird alludes to a lot of material that was cut from the wedding sequence, and gives the usual "we cut them for reasons of pace, just wanted to get on with the story" response. I have not listened to the rest of the commentary yet, so not sure how that fares.
There are some comments from Baird in the interviews about wanting to make a Star Trek movie that would appeal to non Star Trek fans, so you can see where the possible clashes with the cast may have happened, as their comments seem to suggest this should have been a classic Trek story.
So I suppose in a couple of years time when this comes around for an SE, maybe we will get more making of stuff that I am sure exists, more interviews, more deleted scenes, and maybe even DTS.

Thanks for the responses!
It sounds as though it's definitely worth a purchase for a Trek fan ...
I'm sorry to hear about all those "dark scenes"; I use a LCD projector as my prime DVD viewing device and it sometimes gets a little rough if things get too dark!
It's still amazing to me that less than two weeks before the street date there are so few reviews available for this title. I really do believe it will do much better on DVD than it did during its poorly placed theatrical run.

Paramount has a ten day before street date policy. Which is certainly plenty of time to preorder online. However compared to Fox's Daredevil announcement which included a copy of the DVD (see DVDfile), it's a little draconian.
Regardless, just to confirm, it's only one disc right? I haven't heard enough good about this flick to bother picking it up blind unless it's a loaded 2 disc SE. It's the first Trek film I haven't seen in the theaters, (usually opening night) since Undiscovered Country.

just got the disc the other day and i watched it earlier.the menus are pretty good, the extras are above average. The story is good imo,it does look like the watched the other films and took the good points (better than taking the bad points).you can tell brent spiner had a hand in the script,i would really like to know how he has such power in the movie making process.also at the end,if this was the last one,i would like to have seen rikers ship, the USS Titan, just to see what it looked like.the battle at the end was well done, but i thought the battle was going to be between more starfleet ships.

I must say, this did have one of the funniest deleted scenes I can ever recall seeing. The last one with the introduction of the new first officer, and the new captains chair.

The video quality was one of the better ones I have ever seen for a live action.
Sound was great when ships would fly by.
Some of the deleted sceens they could have keep in the movie:
1. Captians Chair
2. Captian talking to Data
3. Number Ones joke to the new Number One that was taking his place.
This is a must buy for NG Trekie fans.

Now that I've seen the movie, I have to agree that the scene with Picard and Data sampling the wine *had* to be in the movie; along with the scene at the end with the new Captain's chair. What were these people thinking (or were they thinking) to cut those two scenes out? They were possibly the most "Real Star Trek" scenes in the movie!!!!!! (Not to mention the fact that the Picard/Data scene was actually integral to the plot!!)

I'm not bashing the movie or anyone's opinion but i was very disappointed in this movie. i found myself gettnig up and wondering away from the movie. It was just very dull. Star Trek movies are not as exciting as it used to be.
