King of Marvin Gardens - Anyone ever see it?

Very early Jack Nicholson (1972 or '73)

Yes. Nicholson is rather low-keyed in his part and Bruce Dern has the much more flamboyant part as his brother. I saw it many years ago, but my impression at the time was that it was merely okay. Dragged in parts and wasn't all that great or memorable.

Agree with Franchot.

Movie is mediocre.

I believe Bob Rafelson directed it and had the "bright idea" to give Nicholson the lowkey role while the irritating Dern has the part made for Jack. It could have been great, but Rafelson had to "experiment" with casting.
