The Rules Of Attraction a must see

I watched this movie like 3 times over the weekend. It was so entertaining. I wont ruin anything about it but I will say that its the best College life movie of all-time!!

IMHO, I think this movie is underrated. Here's my DVD Talk review.

While I usually enjoy films of this nature if pulled off deftly and with some sophistication (solipsistic collegiate nihilism) and let's make so mistake, there are specific scenes here which are quite memorable (the cinematic technique Avery uses to introduce the main characters, the LSD like european trip video (would have made a wonderfully surreal short film), and the occasionally and well timed use of split screens etc.) as a whole I was left wanting. In a nutshell the sum of its parts far outshine the film as a whole.

Summation: Worth a rental but I wouldn't risk a blind buy on it.

Excellent way to put it, right there.

Thank goodness I saw it for FREE. There's a reason why it didn't last long at the theatres. It should've directly hit the videostore.

I agreed w/meritocracy and Tarantino..

It took a few viewings, but I for one, really like "Rules of Attraction". Some of the scenes are excellent, and on the whole, the story isn't half bad. Definitely not a "must have", but like fight club, people either love it, or hate it. Very little room for middle ground.

Man, I really like the movie and recommend it to anyone who enjoys originally made movies. The Europe sequence is awesome. I turned the Carrot Top commentary on after I was done watching the movie just to see what it was like. He is really funny and I almost watched the entire movie again. He cusses alot and has quite a dirty mind, which makes him my kind of dude. If the price was right, I'd pick this up.

The movie is great (although it took two viewings for me to feel this way...). One of the best college or teen films I've seen in a long long time.

The Carrot Top commentary...well, that's a different story altogether. It's terrible, and I wish the bit space wasn't wasted on it, but what are you gonna do?
