How's the audio on the dvd?
I've heard both good & bad stuff about it,so am unsure of wether i should get it or not.
Some say the LD 5.1 track was the worst they ever heard & that may be the same track on the dvd...while reviews of the dvd state the music being far to loud, that it drowns out the singing!
So any opinions?

My copy sounds fine. The 5.1 of Ascot Race scene is great for this older film. all the speakers get used when the horses round the turns. The only music that seemed to be a bit loud was the menu screen IMHO but it's nothing worth geeting worked up about.
The commentary audio is ok. The different voices switch from speaker to speaker on my system. almost like they're sitting and talking from different positions. I never heard/saw the the LD so I can't compare.

The picture and audio on the feature film are superb. You are probably thinking of comments made here by myself and others that the commentary (which is excellent) is played too low and the audio from the film too loud underneath it. This requires considerable consentration while listening.

FYI, I'm copying this thread to DVD Reviews (where it really belongs) and then merging it with this thread:
