One of the most underrated movies of 2001. Jim Carrey is brilliant.

I couldn't agree with you more. This movie is amazing and Jim is terrific in it.

I did not see the movie in the theater. I wanted to, but I never got around to it.

Should I rent the movie or should I buy. Does it have replay value?

I bought this one and watched it last night for the first time. It's an excellent movie and one I'll definitely keep. I don't regret buying it at all.

How is "Sand Pirates Of The Sahara", is it a full length film?

I wouldn't want to watch this again. It's okay, not terrible, but not outstanding either.

I completely agree with moppy007! I was excited about all the good buzz about this title but found it flat and too long.

Good to hear the positive comments...I have this on preorder with Walk to Remember. Do not see too many movies in the theater....most are purchased on dvd upon release. I refuse to rent.....if I do not like a given movie I sell it on ebay. I usually have a pretty good feel for what I like so buying movies sight unseen is not usually a problem for me. With ebay at my disposal....my cost for the movie if I do not keep it turns out to be about the cost of a rental.

I really didn't like this movie at all. I whole heartedly agree that Darabont directed this movie with confidence, style and grace.

However, the story just drags and never builds. I agree with one reviewer who called the film "mawkish".

It had no bite. What made so many Capra films great is his criticical eye.

I thought it was a good movie, but would not put it up there with a Capra flick. The only thing I thought was bad about it

Spoiler:
was the fact that everybody in the city he washed up in thought he was this long lost war hero. Ok, I've been told I look like somebody before, but NOBODY has mistaken me for somebody else. Ok, maybe from time to time, but they quickly learn their error when they see my full face or my eyes. For this boy's own father not to realize....wow, it was a hard sell to me to buy that, but when the whole town buys him hook, line and sinker, I could not get into it as much. Sure, a few realized, but not enough.

I thought it was good as well. It had a nice "homey" feel to it without getting too sappy. They missed the boat on the "big speech" though. I would have liked to seen and heard a much more impactive bit of writing. There was huge potential here, and while Jim Carrey's delivery was good, I think the screenplay only hit at about 6 of 8 cylinders on this scene.

I loved it, it was so nice seeing a great movie that wasn't usuing sarcasm and irony like a shield. All the performance were excellent, especially Carrey's and Landau's.

Basically, yes. Carrey BECOMES Andy Kaufman, and does a phenomenal job.
