action/war dvd
hey, im looking for a straight out action flick. it doesnt have to be smart or dramatic, just incredible action. Movies like Das Boot and Apocalypse Now: Redux in my mind sucked a whole lot, while Saving Private Ryan was incredible. so just a mindless action movie (doesnt have to be a war movie) is good enough.

Thin Red Line the only true war film, filmed from a soliders perspective.
The Winter War Finish war film about the Winter War during World War II.

Sounds like you're looking for a Chuck Norris Missing In Action type movie. Or Rambo II. Maybe U-571.
I'd just suggest you re-think a movie like Das Boot. Remember, war isn't a comic book.

I personally don't think Thin Red Line is an all out action movie. A lot of people seem to like it, but I personally wouldn't even categorize it as action movie.
Here's one that's older but kicked major butt in the action area. Plus it's base on true events by the star Audi Murphy, To Hell and Back.
Or Glory, about Civil War is also action packed.
Platoon is also good.
And the obvious BlackHawk Down coming out 6/11.

well, by action, i mean that every minute, theres something that is going to blow up or someone dying or a head blown off. Not boring boring talk talk talk, and then once in a while have an explosion (Das Boot), but more like action action action small talk then boom, etc. is behind enemy lines a movie that meets my qualifications?

How about Gone In 60 Seconds then, or Taxi (no 'boom' in either, as I vaguely recall, but plenty of action)...
