Review wanted: Watcher in the Woods

I'm thinking abut picking this Ab title up...... anyone point me to a good review or offer one from themselves? I'd like to have real people's reviews, not people who review DVDs for a living....

picked this up, pretty much blind and enjoyed it.
for me there was a bit of a nostalgia factor ( i rmember seeing articles in starlog or fangoria around 1980 about it...but was never compelled enough to catch it on vhs).
if the movie is not quite spectacular ( i can't tell what other people will like, but like i said, i enjoyed it)-it still intrests me for the circumstances surrounding it.
very unusual for a pre-touchstone disney film.
AB put together a pretty decent package, with a really fine transfer.
for $15 i was very satisfied.

I saw this in the theater as a kid and it spooked me good.

Anchor Bay has done an amazing job with the transfer and sound remaster, considering that its a fairly old movie.

Its kind of an ambient little horror movie, with some decent performances (especially Davis) and creepy moments. There is some fairly innovative camera work going on in this picture and if you listen to Hough's commentary, you will here him praise his own style. The alternate endings are must see for fans of this picture, although I really don't like any of the three endings, they are all too short and wrap things up to conveniently.
Great disc especially for 13.99 though and the 30 page boklet included is wonderful for fans. AB seems to be putting out the best inerts in the business lately (see Evil Dead)

Fans of supernatural and haunted house movies will enjoy themselves. There is no gore, more psychologically frightening than anything todays horror movies could learn a thing or two from this movie.

Watcher in the Woods

Watched it sight unseen two days ago and have watched it three times already.
Good creepy film that the whole family can watch.
four out of five for this film.

Campy, beautifully atmospheric and a real guilty pleasure.
Anchor Bay's THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS was worth the wait.
What are you waiting for, just buy it already.
