Picture - Anamorphic lbx and pan&scan. Highly watchable and free of the excessive grain/artifacts that plagued early Warner Bros discs.

Sound - Awesome Dolby Digital 5.1. Maybe it's just because I recently upgraded the components of my system, but I thought the soundtrack rocked! There is CONSTANT use of the surrounds, whether it be the aggressive Basil Poledouris score, the ambient sound effects (the film is set on a moving train), or showy directional stuff like bullets whizzing by. It was very immersive and increased my enjoyment of the film tenfold. The subwoofer wasn't used as much as expected, but it's still effective.

Film - You can get the plot anywhere, so all I'll say is that after all the overblown, filtered, dutched, slow-mo, fast-mo, ADD editing styles of new millenium action flicks, it's nice to see one that just presents the action clearly and concisely with a minimum of fuss but a lot of excitement. Don't get me wrong. It's not that it's all coverage and no style, it's just that the style takes a back seat to presenting the action as efficiently as possible. The pacing is perfect.

UNDER SIEGE 1 sounds & looks better.

Yes, Under Siege one is quite an acceptable disc. Not sure I'd say the sound is better though.

Under Siege 1 is also a better movie than Under Siege 2.

Both are good, too close to call which is better. The only thing 2 doesn't have is a nude scene with a busty babe.

The opening scene of the sattelite launch is great demo material

Anyone have the Above the Law DVD? How's the video/sound on that?

ABOVE THE LAW is a good transfer too.
Worth buying.
