Censored Wonder Boys?
Hey everybody. I just rented Wonder Boys from Hollywood Video. As I was about to watch it, I got one of those "This film has been edited from it's original format. It has been edited for content" What's the deal with that? Is there anything in this movie that needed to be edited? Having not yet seen the film, I'm a bit apprehensive about watching an edited version. Does anyone know anything about this, and does it make a big difference in the film? Thanks
Chris

From the IMDB:
In the theatrical version Tobey Maguire mistakenly refers to Alan Ladd's death as a suicide. After complaints from Ladd's family, Paramount removed the offending line in all future releases of the film, including home video. VHS and DVD releases carry a disclaimer, shown before the feature, warning that the film has been edited for content.
If you watch and listen carefully you can see the point where it was edited.
