Galaxy Quest - Revisited

What a fantastic movie. Saw this in the theater, and just bought and viewed the DVD (With DTS) and it was even better the 2nd time.

Great script, every actor fits a niche', hell even Tim Allen nails his role down.

I'm not a fan of CGI, but the effects in the movie blended well with the models and the Stan Winston puppets.

I'm a semi-part time-Star Trek fan, but this has to be the best "Star Trek" film ever done.

A 4 star movie.

I agree wholeheartedly!!

Its got a lot of great tension and action just like any of your favorite Star Trek moments but it doesnt take itself too seriously and evokes LOTS of laughs. This may be the only performance i like Tim Allen in. He plays the pathetic star turned hero PERFECTLY!! 4 STARS!

The movie made me feel sorry for all the Star Trek characters. So many of them could not get jobs after their ST show was over. But, that is true for most actors in a popular TV show.

It helped to know the history of Star Trek and much of those problems were based on that. Everyone trashed William Shatner for being much like the Tim Allen character.

Exactly! That's (a big part of) what made Galaxy Quest SOOOO funny!

But I did feel the script while obviously making fun of Star Trek and it's fans DID also give them alot of respect as well.

Which is why I think it's a 4 star movie....it really balances both aspects.

Oh yeah!

The DTS sound is terrific on this DVD. If you ever want to settle an unbalanced arguement with a friend or family member about DTS vs DD5.1, play this DVD.

Re: Galaxy Quest - Revisited

I saw this movie on pay per view back in the day. Pretty darn good at the time. Watching it now, it's even better.

The deleted scenes are great too and should have been kept in. Probably just a running time issue.
