Reviews Wanted: Friday

I'm talking about the original Friday, NOT Next Friday.

How good of a DVD is this movie? Special Features etc? How good of a plot does it have? Worth a purchase?

thanks,
don

Friday is a flat-out classic comedy, along the lines of Caddyshack , Young Frankenstein , and Some Like It Hot (not to say it has anything in common with those films, aside from being one of the most consistently funny and rewatchable movies from it's era).

The characters are indelible, and some of the punch lines are unfogettable. " Janet Jackson? [She] looks more like FREDDIE JACKSON!!! This movie made Chris Tucker, and, IMHO remains his best work to date. John Witherspoon, Faison Love, Tiny Lister, DJ Pooh, and countless other actors create memorable characterizations that feel like old friend whenever I pop this disc in for a rewatch.

It is a New Line Platinum DVD, one of the first, and has excellent features.

My bottom line: Friday is a classic, must own DVD. DAAAAAYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUMN!

I'd agree with Glenn. This movie is a staple of my collection.

It is on my top 10 all-time favorite movie list(well, it would be if I had one). I would have to say it is the best comedy I've ever seen. It probably is the movie I have watched more times than any other.

this movie sucked!

"I was just bull*****tin'! And you know this, man!"

but, i have a small, very minor complaint about the film. it does look like a student film at times, but that's the cinematographer's fault. there are just some lighting situations in Craig's house that just look unnatural.

as for plot and story.. it's funny as *****.

Definitely a classic. It's got some deleted scenes and music vid.
Good replay value.
