Review Wanted: Forces Of Nature

Just saw the flick last night, interested in the DVD now.

Any opinions?

Thanks.

You saw the flick so there is nothing to report on the movie, lightweight but cute. The DVD is certainly OK. 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen, 5.1 sound. But with most comedies being dialogue driven, the surrounds are really just for background noise and theme music. A short featurette and some deleted scenes make this a decent buy if you like the movie.

I have a copy I would trade if you are interested. LMK.

Thanks for the offer jimmy, but i dont trade

I'm actually surprised this DVD isnt barebones (which is what i thought for a very long time, even before watching the movie).

Did anyone else think of this movie as Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Part II?

I was surprised when I came away liking this movie but PT&A kept going thru my head the whole time I watched it. Maybe an unofficial sequel?...

They both had similiar stories. Trying to get to the destination, crazy travelling companion, everything goes wrong. P,T, & A was certainly heavier duty comedy. More laugh out loud stuff. Forces was more of a cutesy, humerous type story. You really need to like Sandra Bullock and Ben Affleck to like this movie. I know the reviews were not very kind but I enjoyed the movie. I just don't think of it as being way up on my list of romantic comedies, many others rate higher.

Looks like another DVD reviewer thought along the same lines as you :

"While the film has a great look and some stunning shots, "Forces Of Nature" suffers in the story department. The plot is basically "Planes, Trains, And Automobiles" meets every "opposites attract" movie."

One of the reasons why I liked this "chick flick" is because the way it ended
Spoiler:
wasn't like every other one out there. The guy actually stayed with his fiance instead of running away with the hot new woman he just met and somewhat connected to. What a novel concept -- having love that actually means something rather than a misinterpretation of a flirt.
