I got this DVD for my Dad last X-Mas not being a huge fan of the flim, I enjoyed this DVD. It has Anamorphic Widescreen and is THX certified. Also has Commentry and a 45 min Doc. and some extra Interviews.
Overall a good DVD I would say

It's puzzled me for a while why the SE of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid gets so little mention on DVD boards. The transfer is THX-certified and excellent, the extras are plentiful and top notch and the film itself is, IMHO, among the top 10 of the 70's and that's saying a mouthful considering the number of exceptional movies that came out of that decade. It's also a very fun movie that was arguably the very first "buddy" flick. It blows my mind that so much bandwidth is taken up discussing westerns that are considerably inferior (again, just my opinion) like Tombstone while Butch seems to be virtually ignored.
BTW, is it just me or is this DVD lightly stocked? I ordered it online but up until then I'd never seen it in over 2 dozen B+M's I'd wandered through.

It is a wonderful film. Universally recognized as one of the greatest screenplays ever and with some of the greatest buddy screen chemistry ever. I love the movie. The transfer is very good considering the age. Sound is mono, but dialog is clear. I haven't explored the special features yet (so many DVDs, so little time).
