Review Wanted: Driven
Has anyone picked up and watched Driven yet? I never had a chance to see it in the theaters and was wondering if it is worth the purchase. I don't expect anything great in the realm of plot or characters, but is it a good visual/audio disc?

I picked it up today @ Sam's for $16.99. Haven't watched nothing but the extra's and a few sceens. Can wait to see the whole movie. As far the sound, Awesome! Image quality is great. Extra's are very good.

Thanks for the info. Please let me know how the rest of the disc is when you get a chance to watch it all.

Here's my take on the disc...
The sound is good, but could have been slightly better, or maybe my system just sucks. Regardless, there could have been a little more surround usage, although the sound there is is crisp and clean. Overall, a great soundtrack on the disc.
The video is as clean as it comes, sporting a great transfer as far as I can see with my S-Video input on my Sony Trinitron.
The movie, I'm kinda biased on, because I loved the thing when I saw it opening night in the theater. It's a typical storyline... coming of age, but in an Indycar. I thought Sly was good, and the effects and action are top notch. Especially the effects- which I just can't say enough about...Then there's the chase scene through the streets of chicago which is just wow...
The extras...this is where I see only one fault- there is sooooo much more footage from this film, and while there's a good amount on the disc, there could have been more. I'm not complaining, but rather just stating what I know about the production of the film from following it. The Featurettes and Deleted Scenes are fantastic, and the commentary by stallone on the deleted scenes is good, even if somewhat rambling. I haven't watched the Harlan feature commentary though...so more on that later.
All in all, this is one disc I had been waiting and waiting for, and I can't say that I'm disappointed in the least. I feel a lot of people overlooked this in the theater, and they should be ashamed of themselves. It's just a good action flick that will get you going, and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. The subplots are slightly weak, but I'm not here to check out love triangles- this is RACING. I wanna see speed, wrecks, and some nice trim. All of which driven delivers.
