just flipped thru this last night and my overall impression was positve. there are some weird anomolies i've never seen before-at some points the picture briefly 'ripples' as if it were being projected above hot asphalt...a kind of heat shimmer. i don't know how else to describe it. it's very brief( a second or two), but of the 12 minutes or so i watched (chapter skipping) i saw it several times.
other than that the picture seemed very good.
better than the usual $10 street price MGM titles-solid color, good blacks, contrast, detail, etc.
too bad the LD supplementals won't likely see the light of day again, but for $10 it seems like a solid buy.

Yeah, I went ahead and bought it anyway. I don't really have anything to complain about. Given the age of this film, I'd say the transfer is more than functional. I would say the upcoming release of An American Werewolf in London will have this disc beat; but this disc shouldn't do fans of the film any wrong.
